Plugs & Sockets in Rote, Bali and Other Indonesian Islands

In Rote, as in all of Indonesia you will need the 2 pin, C and F type sockets and plugs.

The pins on C and F plugs are round and not flat or rectangular.

Standard Voltage in Rote

The Voltage is in Indonesia and Rote is 230V.

  • Voltage: 230 V
  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Power sockets: type C / F

Most countries use a voltage of 220-230V, but some like Aruba, Mexico, Ecaudor and others do not, so it is always worth checking on the device or charger to make sure your appliance or device is compatible with 230V..

Laptops, digital cameras, mobile phones and other common devices typically have dual voltage chargers. You will see this on the device lablel or written on the block on your charger cable.

If it states ‘V INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz,’ then it is a dual volt power supply, and it may be used in any country including Rote and Indonesia.

Countries that need to bring a travel adapter

If you are traveling from UK, Australia, Japan, USA, Malaysia, Canada, or Singapore, you will most likely need a plug adapter so that you can plug your device into the “Rote Socket”, even though the voltage may should be fine.

List of countries and their plug types

To help, we have created a list of countries and their plug types used. If your home country does not us the C and F type plugs, you will most likely need an adapter. This is not an exhaustive list, and we may not have listed every country.
